Jessica Singleton is the owner of the well known and respected Yuba City kennel, Singleton Shepherds, based out of Browns Valley, CA. She originally bred half working line AKC Shepherds in 2018 but got her start working with dogs and helping humans as far back as 2006. She started as a Petsmart trainer but transferred over to the medical field starting with assisting disabled adults, from which she became a medical assistant, then phlebotomist, on to an EMT and now a Respiratory Therapist at Adventist Health. Jessica suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 22 and self trained her German Shepherd Ghost to assist her. Jessica is a strong and determined woman who is also personable and fun to be around.
Jalissa Ramirez is a 21-year-old full-time entrepreneur based out of East Nicolaus, California. She is a full-time destination wedding photographer and crested gecko breeder. Jalissa has an Associates degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences as well as an Associates in Business Admininstration and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Jalissa grew up around many different dog breeds and always had a natural ability to understand dog behavior. After experiencing an increasing amount of mental hardships, she decided to look into getting a service dog. She met Jessica from Singleton Shepherds and offered website building and branding photos in exchange for a white german shepherd. Jessica later offered her a full-time position working for her as the website developer and content manager for Singleton Shepherds. Jalissa self-taught herself how to train her white german shepherd “Zephyr” and posted videos of their progress on Facebook. Dog training wasn’t something Jalissa saw in her future but her passion for dogs sparked an interest in the field and she has been dedicated to improving her skills as a trainer ever since. Jalissa enjoys weightlifting at the gym, reading, and collecting rare houseplants on her free time.
